Questions & Answers . . .

Since 1911, families have trusted us.  More and more concerned, thoughtful people are coming to us to arrange for their own funerals in advance of need.

In many cases, these people who plan ahead have been through, or have helped a friend go through the distressing experience of making arrangements for the funeral of a family member.  And they thought; "Wouldn't it have been easier on everyone if some preparation had been made for this inevitable occurrence, long before it became a reality?"

Decide, today, to spare your family the burden of making difficult, and perhaps costly, decisions when they may be emotionally unprepared to make them.  Set aside funds, today, so that funeral expenses will not have to come from savings or insurance proceeds your family will need for their own living.

This page answers questions we are asked most often by people who come to us to discuss Pre-Need arrangements.  We hope it will be helpful.  Thank You.

Q. What do you mean by "Funeral Pre-Arrangement" or "Pre-Need"?
A. "Pre-arrangement" or "Pre-need" simply means that you meet with one of our
experienced Funeral Directors and plan your funeral details in advance.

Q. Is that as unsettling  an experience as it sounds?
A. Not at all.  In fact, most people find that Pre-arrangement gives them peace of
mind because they have taken the initiative to spare their families this duty at
some future time when it would, indeed, be a disturbing task.

Q. How does Pre-arrangement work?
A. Our Funeral Director records your personal information and instructions as
to the type of service you want, the type of casket you select, the amount to be
spent and other details.

Q. Why should I consider Pre-arrangement and Pre-paying?
A. By Pre-arranging the funeral, you prevent difficult and emotional decisions.
And if you pay for the services in advance utilizing our State regulated Trust
Program, you can "freeze" the cost at today's prices.  The Trust also isolates
your funds from being attached for any type of Medical or Nursing care.

Q. What do you mean by "freeze the costs"?
A. Just like everything else, inflation increases the costs of funeral service.  But
if you pre-pay for services using our exclusive Master Trust Program, you
are guaranteed that the services and merchandise you selected will be
supplied at the time they are needed, with no additional expense to your
survivors.

Q. How do I "pre-pay"?
A. When you decide on what you want and what the expenses are, a Master
Trust is established in your name in our FDIC Insured PA Bank.  One of our
Funeral Directors will handle all the paperwork for you.

Q. Is this plan regulated by any Government agency?
A. Yes.  Your payments are FDIC Insured and governed by PA Banking and
Trusting Laws.  Our Funeral Homes are also Bonded for all funds entrusted
to us.  Your Future Interment Master Trust is the most secure
Pre-arrangement funding vehicle in the Commonwealth.

Q. The plan sounds solid enough, but I have life insurance.  Why should I have
this Trust account?
A. Because your family will primarily use your life insurance benefits for your
final medical and other expenses.  The Trust means that funeral costs won't
have to be taken from their income.  It's really a matter of thoughtfulness
as well as prudent financial management.

Q. Can I set up this Trust for anyone in my family?
A. Yes.  There is no limit as to the number of family members who can join
the Trust.  Separate accounts are established for each individual.

Obviously, the above questions & answers, cannot answer all of your questions or provide details to cover your particular situation.   If you would like more information on how our Pre-Arrangement Program can meet your individual needs, please call one of our funeral homes or use the below form to ask questions.  One of our Funeral Directors would be pleased to explain the Program to you, without obligation, of course.
